First Steps Recovery is a full-continuum program specializing in addiction treatment, located in Fresno County, CA. We are committed to the safety, comfort, and success of every resident who comes to us seeking treatment. As such, we provide clients with all of the resources they need to begin treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and recover from that addiction, as well as provide the tools to help them learn how to enjoy life again. Regardless of whether your addiction is to alcohol, drugs, or anything else, our programs are designed to help you learn to live a life substance-free.
At First Steps Recovery, you or your loved one will be brought into a safe, clean and caring environment, to gather the strength to take the first steps toward full recovery. “Residential Treatment” (also called inpatient treatment for addiction) is the term used to describe the process by which a person lives in a controlled and safe environment to begin the recovery process.
We understand that true sobriety goes beyond abstaining from abusing substances; it involves healing the soul. A true confrontation of addiction involves addressing the underlying emotional issues and possible mental health complications that are common in those who abuse substances.
That’s why our treatment specialists carefully guide residents through the entire process of transitioning back into real life to better ensure their complete recovery. From the very first phone call to medical assessments to helping to make the transition to a lower level of care, our specialists provide compassionate care every step of the way.

Dr. Belis Aladag is a board-certified physician in Addiction Medicine and Family Medicine, with a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins. She brings more than 15 years of experience in clinical care, medical education, and leadership. Recognized as a “Top Doctor” in Sacramento Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine, Dr. Aladag is dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based care and expanding access to mental health and addiction services.
